Suspension / Detention

In-school suspensions and detention need to serve as more than dead time for students. This time should provide meaningful opportunities for students to reflect on what got them there and what they can do about that.

How Did I End Up Here?
This booklet offers middle and high school students an opportunity to reflect upon and learn from the thoughts, feelings and actions that contributed to their disciplinary problem. A facilitator’s guide provides prompts and explanations.

What Went Wrong?
Geared toward upper elementary in-school suspension, this booklet helps students process the actions and words that created the problem. They get a chance to think through what they could have done differently to change the outcome.
